BRUCE C. LARSON, M.D.

Dr. Bruce Larson received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1979. He then performed an Internship at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Larson completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed a one year Fellowship in Retina, Vitreous and Laser Surgery at the University of Illinois and has a special interest in Laser Vision Correction.

Dr. Bruce Larson is a board certified Ophthalmologist in private practice at Larson Eye Center, Ltd. since 1984. He has a special interest in Laser Vision Correction including LASIK, Wave Front LASIK, Epi-LASIK, PRK and ICL.

Dr. Larson is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), and the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology (IAO).

Dr. Lauren Saxe received her medical degree from Boston University Medical School in 1987. She performed her Internship at Framingham Union Hospital in Framingham, MA and completed her Ophthalmology Residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Saxe is a board certified Ophthalmologist in private practice since 1992. She has a special interest in cataract surgery.

SOPHIA SARKOS, M.D.

Dr. Sophia Sarkos received her medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1993 after completing her undergraduate studies at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. She then performed her Internship at the Cleveland Clinic and completed both her Ophthalmology Residency and a one year Clinical Research Fellowship at Tulane University, New Orleans, Lousianna.

Dr. Sarkos also completed an Anterior Segment and Refractive Fellowship with John Doane of Discover Vision Centers in Leawood, Kansas in July, 2004. She is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist in private practice since 1998. Dr. Sophia Sarkos has a special interest in cataract and refractive surgery.

KATHLEEN BLAKE, M.D.*

Dr. Kathleen Blake received her medical degree from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, IL in 1981. She then performed her Internship and Ophthalmology Residency at the Loyola University Medical Center.

Dr. Blake completed a one year Fellowship in Oculoplastics and Oncology at Baylor Medical Center, Houston, TX. She served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Loyola Medical Center for 10 years before coming to private practice at Larson Eye Center, Ltd. in 1997.

Dr. Kathleen Blake is a board certified Ophthalmologist with a special interest in plastic surgery of the eye, BOTOX and Microdermabrasion.

LISE ANNE GUAY-BHATIA, M.D.*

Dr. Lise Anne Guay-Bhatia received her medical degree from the Loyola University Medical School, Maywood, IL in 1986. She also completed her Internship and Ophthalmology Residency at the Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Guay-Bhatia then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago.

Dr. Lise Anne Guay-Bhatia is a board certified Ophthalmologist specializing exclusively in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. She has been in private practice since 1995.

HERBERT BECKER, M.D.

Dr. Herbert Becker received his medical degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA in 1990 after completing his undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA. He then performed his Internship at the Virginia Mason Hospital and completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA. After completing a one-year Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship in 1999, Dr. becker completed a two-year Retinal Fellowship at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, Chicago.

He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist in private practice since 1998. Dr. Becker is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Medical Association (AMA), AAPOS, Lion's Club and Rotary International. He has a special interest in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous.

MICHAEL MACEK, O.D.*
Contact Lens Specialist

Dr. Michael Macek graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1988 and received his Doctorate Degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1993. He is a board certified Optometrist in private practice since 1994.

Dr. Macek is a contact lens specialist who works with all types of contact lens styles for all age groups. He has a special interest in Ortho K technology.
