"FDA approves first implantabale lenses for nearsightedness"
On Monday, September 13th,2005, the Food and Drug Administration approved the first implantable contact lens for nearsightedness.The lens implant is currently targeted for those patients who are not good LASIK candidates for various reasons including those with high amounts of nearsightedness with thin corneas.
